Editing Action
The following chapter from Michael Wohl's Advanced Editing Techniques in Final Cut Pro 5 provides instructions for editing an action sequence. Using the stock footage provided for you, create a smoothly edited action sequence by following the steps in this chapter.
Before you begin, as before, first you must set up Final Cut Pro:
1. Create a brand new project for this sequence. Close any previous projects that are open.
2. Immediately save your project in your folder using the following convention: Lastname_FirstName_Action Sequence.fcp
3. Set your scratch disks to your folder- do this EVERY TIME you open final cut or you risk losing your work!
4. Save your work often: Command+S
After you've set up Final Cut Pro, use the instructions below to edit your action sequence. You'll find the footage in the Apple Pro Training folder under "Friends of the Family". If the file does not display below, you may download it here.
